Randy & Mary Lou Kula

In January of 1984, Mary Lou and I were both going to play intramural volleyball. I was a coach for the computer science association team, so I went to the coach’s meeting. Mary Lou went to the meeting too, looking for a team to join.

To keep things short, Mary Lou ended up being on my team. After one of our practices, we met at the Rascal House and got to know each other. We then went on a date to see Duran Duran at the Richfield Coliseum. Our volleyball team even won the “b” division championship.

Our relationship continued, spending time at the Rascal House, the Shire and campus pizzeria. We got engaged on Sweetest Day in 1986 and were married on April 23, 1988.

We have 3 children and the cool thing is that they all played volleyball from a young age through high school.

Thank you CSU!
